Diagnosis before treatment. Identification before application.
UF/IFAS weed management research emphasizes identification first. Garden Crafters doesn't blanket-spray and hope. We identify the specific weed species on your lawn, understand its growth cycle, and apply targeted treatments that remove the invader without harming your St. Augustine grass.
Bermudagrass Invasion
Bermudagrass is one of the most persistent invaders of St. Augustine lawns in South Florida. We address Bermudagrass through targeted spot treatments, proper mowing height, and cultural practices that favor St. Augustine density.
Nutsedge Removal
Yellow and purple nutsedge grow faster than St. Augustine and form dense yellow-green clumps. Nutsedge has a triangular stem that makes it unmistakable. We use targeted herbicide treatments that penetrate the tubers.
Crabgrass and Dollar Spot
Crabgrass appears in thinning lawns as low-growing blue-green clumps. Dollar spot creates circular tan spots. We treat both with species-specific products and address the underlying causes that allow them to establish.
